I am having trouble starting my 4Runner now that it is getting cold. I have replaced the battery with a new one and also replaced the spark plug wires. The starter was replace about 3000 to 4000 miles ago. On warm days it starts fine but on days when it below 30 I have to us jumper cables. Once it is running it starts up fine until the next morning. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas.

Its unlikely but you could have gotten a bad battery. More likely though, check your battery cables. Make sure they are clean and secure and are cracked or in bad shape.

Actually I bought a battery in September and the problem start to occur in November. I took it back to the place I bought it from and they gave me a new one because it was a bad battery. I got the new battery about a week ago and I am still having the problem.

It could also have something to do with the cold start injector,if aplicable.

So I took back the battery I had and traded it in for an Optimum red top battery. One of my friends mentioned I may not have enough cold crack amp when the temp drops below 30. Once I put it in it started up right away. However the next morning my 4runner wouldn't start. My roommate and I jumped it off of his car battery and it started right up no problem. I am beginning to wonder if it may be a loose wire draining down the battery at night. Any ideas?

It does sound like something is draining the battery.
With everything OFF, connect an Ammeter in series between the batt + terminal and the + battery cable. If the current draw is more than 50 mA or so (ECMs, stereo, alarm, etc. each draw a few mA continuously) you need to find the source of the drain.
You can start by pulling fuses one-at-a-time till it drops, then you know what circuit the drain is on.
I had the same sypmtoms with my Maxima once, the meter reading didn't go down, even after pulling all the fuses. On a hunch I disconnected the cable from the alt to the batt and it dropped. Turns out one of the diodes in the diode-trio in the alt was bad.

So the latest problem is that my battery charge light and my brake warning light have both been turning on and off while I am driving. What does it mean when both of these lights are showing up at the same time. I checked the brake fluid and it is topped off. I am guessing my alternator is going out. Thanks for the help.

I would check the voltage at the battery while the runner is running with the light off and then with the light on. the brushes on the alternator might be going bad. if so you should be able to replace the brushes.

Also, check to make sure the plug on the BACK of the alternator is pushed in securely and that the lock engages. I had the same problem with the lights, and that was the cause of mine. also, check to make sure that the contacts are snug, and that the wires are good.
