In the near future I'll be replacing my 22re with a re-built one in my 88 truck. Could I get some recommendations on what companies you guys like to deal with? I've been looking around at some different shops but thought I'd get some feedback from guys who have been to that rodeo already. Let me know, thanks!

I got one from a company called orient engine I now totally regret it. This company does not remanufacture their engines, they only fix what ever was wrong with them, throw some paint on it and tell you it's remanufactured. Within the first month I broke a rocker arm and the oil pump started leaking. Then the timing chain broke after five thousand miles. This wouldn't be so bad if they would pay for all of the repairs, which they didn't only about 3/4th (not mentioned anywhere). My head gasket is blown now that my warranty is up. I've treated my engine like a baby, but got screwed by some jerk in kentucky. Have a local shop do it for you you might be better off.

If you want to run a remanufactured engine personlly I would go with JASPER. They are propably the formost leading reman company on the market. When i went with a reman motor in my toy, i went with a company called ATK. I was pleased with my purchase and havent had one problem as of yet.
One thing you say you want a rebuilt engine. Remember rebuilt is much different then remanufactured. Along with the cost...

I have not used, but have heard good things about Oregon Engine Builders, and usually you only hear about the bad.
I'm considering them for a short block for my 89 Runner.
