hi, my name is shaun and i am 17 and my 1995 4runner (3.0L V6) just blew a head gasket and i need some suggestions. i want to know whether i should just get a rebuilt motor (where from), or should i just replace the head gasket and if i do replace the head gasket i will probably get a valve job and my heads machined or whatever so if anyone could help me, that would be great

head gasket is quite a job on that motor. so you know which side you blew or are you doing both? how many miles on the motor? i would recomend doing a water pimp and thermostat, and timing belt while you have the motor apart. do you planning on doing it your self? or maybe you just want to get a junk yard motor and swap it in. whats your buget on this?

like ediblecrayons said that all depends on how many miles are on the engine if you want to do a rebuild. i actually just finished doing the headgaskets on one of my trucks. it wasnt THAT bad. leave about a day and a half to do it. It took me a good day. also phone a toyota dealership and see if it is eligable for the HG recall
