I am at odds with my '92 4WD. This past week my truck was starting very hard. I could smell gas and the battery is fully charged and strong. It would finally start and run but it took a little bit to get there. I tried it today and it started with very little effort.
I am wondering if since it was raining for the past couple of days and now it is drying up outside, could this have been the problem? Too much moisture? Any help will really be useful.
I'm not very intelligent on these engines so please make sure that if you are going to inform me on something you make it so a 1st grader can understand it. Thanks.

It's possible that one of the many sensors that control operation of the engine was affected by the moisture. I've seen vehicles that would run fine, and then die in the rain because some sensor got wet.

Well, this past weekend I dropped the fuel tank and found the problem. Sitting on top of the tank was some old mulch that ate away at the fuel lines. The whole fuel pump bracket has eroded lines the were leaking gas. The connections were so rusted that the lines broke so I am replacing it all and getting this truck back on the road.
