I have a automatic 91 toyota pickup 22re 4x4 extended cab. I have been looking everywhere for a A340f transmission but cant find one. Some guys told me I could probly convert a 2wd trans to a 4wd. Does anyone know if this is true or know where I can find a 4wd one.

I compared them in the FSM, and I don't think it (2WD to 4WD) can be done (at least not easily), especially since the t-case is pretty much part of the trans. It doesn't simply unbolt like the manual trans and t-case do.
As for locating a used one, people are always swapping their autos out for a manual, so they are out there waiting for you.
Start by posting in the Wanted forums of sites like this, and local clubs sites.

I think the 2wd and 4wd just have different out put shafts
