i have a 04 tacoma 4x4 auto trans w/an eletric locker, question is, i have a 4:10 now and want a 4:56 ( i think, lowend seems to low) will the locker cause a problem, is that ratio to high for 32" tires and who should i but the gears from?

Well the 4.56's with 32's works fine on a 4cyl manual set-up.I would think they would be fine with a v-6 auto trans set-up.Do you have a 4 or 6 cyl? |

its a v-6, i just dont want to run 3000rpm at 70, but i found a calculator and it said i should be at 2500 with that set up, with the 4.10 i'm at 2200 rpm @ 70 mph.

I use Randy's Ring & Pinion.They may be a little more $ but if the set-up and break in are done correctly they will stand behind their product.There are plenty of companies out there but I've been dealing with Randy's for a real long time and have never had a complaint about them.Make sure to get the master install kit when you do order your gears no matter who who buy from.I don't remember who sells them off my head but I'll look it up.I would also recomend getting a solid spacer for the pinion gear the crush sleeve type that comes with the kit aren't as strong,it's not necessary but it will hold up much better.

thanks for the replies hoodlum,but i'm finding out that no one has a listing for the front gears, i've tried to call dealers but no answers, does anyone have info?
