I live in texas, I've never had a problem overheating, but if I go into a long crawl or get stuck in traffic for long periods of time I start to notice the temp gauge creeping up past the 1/2 way mark. as luck would have it traffic usually cleared before it got much higher, or I made it through whatever induced the crawl before it got the chance to overheat... Do you think the oil cooler will help, hurt, or make no difference? how about possible side effects? I'm just looking to give the cooling system a little break.
dunno, maybe I'm just getting too bored waiting for parts to appear in junkyards to get on with my fuel injection swap... (I guess not too many toyotas break)
