This truck was given to me by my uncle. I built the flat bed himself and purchased the doors and front fenders. It was then given to me to 'finish.' Last year i had the deck sandblasted then i primed it. I also cut out the middle cross member due to frame rot, patched up the frame and built me own cross member. Its sat like this ever since
So here's what im starting with....
Yes that is snow at the end of May! crazy Alberta
I bought a second cab as it was in way better shape
Stripped and ready to weld in new floor panels (which i will get from the black cab as they are still good) then sent to get sandblasted.

Sandblasted
Everything ready for primer.
Finally got my primer to dry after a long day out in the sun. Turns out i didnt wait long enough for 'induction' time before i added thinner. But here it is primed, seam sealed, and a wee bit of body filler.
Here is the deck with removabled sides
Spray painted inside where the dash goes and the engine bay so i would not have any trouble with the components fitting.
Boxlined!!
Cab comes off
Was gonna send to sandblasting with engine in but realized there was only six bolts and one power steering hose holding it in! so out comes engine
Look like a good start. Nice patch work on the floorboard. Are you planning on painting your rig a certain color or just leaving it with the bedliner (black)?

Apparently havent updated this in a while ..... added HID lights to my truck ... i will never EVER drive vehicles with stock lights again
also modified some Jeep Grand Cherokee leather seats to fit. and yes the power adjustments work
they sit a little high ... i will have to modify them some more
Sorry all! Yes i am still alive. Jobs just kept me way to busy. Now i have way more free time.
So i am way behind on this build.
Got tired of the way to bumpy 'add-a-leaf' ride sooooo with a call in to Trail Gear some parts showed up
- 4" spring lift - cross over steering - Billstein 5150 shocks (external resevoirs) - long slip front drive shaft spline - winch adapter plate
*over all service was good
however .... extremely unhappy with the long slip drive shaft. Tons of play in the splines, both ends not plugged so dirt will be getting in, and u joint was wrong size
sorry for bad pics, from a Blackberry
robbed some axles .... rear is a new style (89-95) with 4.56 gears and Detroit EZ locker, front is what i believe a land cruiser with factor Toyota E locker with 4.56's
Ill try and let the pictures do the talking .... build start!
front diff cover fit not to bad, but still had to fill in a gap
had to knotch out the innner fender a bit
steering box/cross over steering install
i tacked the top blate to the collars to prevent any 'pulling or warping'
rear leafs install
they sent me the wrong rear spring hangers, but i made do
moved shackle mounts 2.5" back from original
just messing around .... truck with 38's!
purchased these rims used and found this old polish, worked great
finished!!
should have went the 5" rear springs due to the extra weight of the custom box, but ordered some extended shackles
Had some SR5 seats that were a little pounded out so i used some pieces of a yoga mat and carpet underlay. Way comfier!
Started building a front bumper with the winch plate from Trail Gear
finished up the front bumper
and started on the rear
Both bumpers done!!!
i actually get quite a few compliments on these, asking where they can buy them. They seem pretty shocked when i say their custom.
These pictures are after the extended rear shackles are installed.... still need 5" rear springs
Great build.... I'm doing a similar one to that on my 85 X-Cab...
I saw something in this picture... Is it a Forney?
I have one that I use regularly!
Mostly Stock 91 4Runner SR5 V6 Auto w/ 33" Durango MT's (bent lower valance removed), bush bar w/ 55w Baja Offroad Lights, Custom rear double tube bumper, Custom fit 1st. gen rollbar (used to mount Hi-Lift and fire extinguisher), extended diff breathers, (Comming soon homemade 2" body lift, custom front bumper/winch mount..
