I am looking for a set of stock rear leaf springs for a 2nd gen 4runner. I purchased new springs but did not realize they don't include the bottom load bearing leaf. Unfortunately I had already junked the old ones.

That bottom leaf is an overload leaf. I took mine out for more flex years ago and I haven't regretted it.

I did not have the overload leaf on my last pair, but they eventually developed a bend near the axle. I might just install an add a leaf to the bottom for a little extra support.
