Hey everyone,
I have a 1982 pickup with a 22R and I'm having some issues with idling. Most of the time it doesn't idle until I drive it a few miles or unless I start it "just right" pumping the gas a couple times before turning the key, which doesn't work every time either. I checked the spark plugs and they seem fine but I'm not sure what else could be causing this. It runs pretty rough when it's not idling but when I'm driving it kind of skips for half a second and then it idles fine and runs smooth. Could it be something with the timing?
The motor overall is not in the GREATEST of shape, it's probably got somewhere around 100,000 to 120,000 miles on it but the alternator, fuel pump, water pump, and starter have all been replaced in the last couple years.
I don't have a whole terrible lot of mechanical knowledge in working on it so any help or pointers you could give would be appreciated.
Let me know if there's any additional info that would be helpful.
Thanks!

Could be the choke, a pin hole in the AAP diaphram, clogged EGR, for starters.
