Looking at replacing current 95 4x4 with 2.7L with new Tacoma. Would like to stay with 4 cyl for gas mileage but can't get e-locking diff. Talked to Toyota hot line and they said the Auto LSD is NOT a posi-trac. Doesn't make sense to me but must be something I don't understand. Anyone out there know what's really going on with the Auto LSD and if it's worth going to the 6 cyl to get the e-locker? I really don't use it for rock crawling, but it's my hunting rig. Hate to get stuck in the way-back 40.
Related to that, what kind of gas mileage on average does the 6 cyl get? I got 25 mpg when new with the 4 cyl and the 6 cyl is only rated at 19 mpg highway. Gawk! Any experience out there on these?

Why not just get the truck you want, then put a locker in it, instead of a truck you don't really like, just to get a locker ?
