Iv got a 94 Yota Pickup and the rear end case is completely rusted and causing leaking. Haven't been able to find a good pickup rear end but did find a 4runner. So my question is are they interchangeable? Or are there any other rear ends that i can swap? Looking for cheap and easy as this is my dd and i only paid 1000 bucks for it.

Yes they should be interchangeable if it's an 86-95 axle. 85 and older are shorter. 95 and newer something changed in the axle, but I can't remember what it was. If using the gears make sure they are the same as your front ones.
Where at on the axle is it rusting? Have you tried cleaning the rust up? How bad is it?

Newer model runners had link suspension in back. Housing is the same but mounts are all wrong. Some newer model trucks had a rubber isolated perch setup. The spring perch was wider to fit a steel shell with rubber peices inside that sandwiched the springs.
Doesnt make sense to put a pre85 in it at all. Only way a taco axle makes sense is for adding width but its weaker than a 86-95 axle.

The third gen rears still use the old 8" pumkin but they are wider then the second gen by about 2". When i bent my rear housing years back i went to the wrecker hoping to find a pickup truck housing so i wouldn't have to cut off all the 4 link crap. All i could find was a 99 4runner housing and i measured it compared to the original housing in my 90. I worked fine using my old third and axles.
