I am learning more about headers and might opt for one in the future. I need a new muffler ASAP. Does it matter which shouuld come first? Should I take anything into consideration when buying the muffler? There's no way I can afford both, so the muffler is all I can put on now.I was reading a recent post and was probably going to go with a Flowmaster 40. Any insight would be great.

If you like a good deep sound then go with the 40. If you want deep mild sound then go with a 60.
Click here to get an idea of how they will sound (click on the muffler you want to hear then click on the "sound clip" button).

Thanks, Deadlypeace. I had been on Flowmaster's site before, but never moticed the little sound clip things. 1992 4runner, 3.4 liter. Is it a 2.25" in/out? I can't find an application for 4Runners but I do for '87-97ish Toyota pickups so is this the muffler I should be looking at?

I believe the 3.4 has the 2.25 also, but not sure. Best thing I'd say to do is go out and measure it just to make sure.
