I would like to purchase a 1994 Toyota SR5 with extended cab. Can a child safety seat fit in rear seat? Has anyone done it? I know front seat may need to move forward. I also know they are not known for their spaciousness. Please tell me it can be done. He only needs to ride with me occasionaly.

I took my nephew in my truck 91 ext cab and room isnt the problem. The problem is that if you look at the seats they sit straight up and down there is no lean back. In the back seat of a car if you look the bottom of the seat is angled pretty far back and so is the back rest. I didnt feel that it was safe with the car seat leaning so far forward. He was amost in like a half standing upright position but sitting down. Instead of his feet hitting the front seat of the truck they were more angled down towards the floor. Maybe it was just a different car seat but he is 4 years old. Your best bet would be to bring the child along with a car seat and try it out yourself. Best of luck.
