What do you mean by lock up , and is it on dry pavement?

it feels like the brakes are bieng applied, and yes on dry pavement and also on dirt but not as bad. a friend at work said that there might be a locker installed in the front end. i bought the truck from a guy who only did some cosmetic work on it, he didnt know much about the truck he only had it a couple of months

A locker wouldn't feel like the brakes being applied, but an easy way to tell if you have a locker is lift one tire off the ground and lock the hubs, but not the T-case. Then see if you can turn the tire in the air. If you can then it's still open. If not then it's got a locker.
