i have a oil leak problem on my 84 runner 22re i built this motor and it seems to be spiting oil from back behind the head almost seems like its coming from underneath the right back coner ( exhaust manifold side) could this be the head didnt seal proper or what i have retorque as nessecsary all was good if i dont have to pull the head i dont want to but its looking that way i'm losing a good amount of oil bout a quart and a half in 350 miles not good specialy on a 1500mile rebuild plus i got over a grand in head work doneany suggestions would be awesome.

Clean the engine off real good and then take it for a short drive and then check to see if you can see where it is actually coming from. Leave the engine running until you finish looking. Then if it still looks clean shut it down and look again. Sometimes you may need to leave it for a few minutes and keep coming back to recheck it while it cools down. If after that it still seems to be clean then just check it just before driving it and each time you park it.
It could be possible that the HG didn't was bad. If seen a lot of times that the rubber half moon seals leak. Did you put RTV sealer on the lower half of it? I found this to help them out a lot better even when new.
