'94 PU 3" Body lift Manual
I did the lift several years ago, but just recently when I shift in 4-wheel drive, either low or high, the shifter just pops right out, unless I manually hold it there. So far my only thought is that the shift boot is restricting the movement, and forcing it out of 4-wheel drive.
When I did the lift, I welded the 3" shift extensions on... and it worked normal right after the lift was installed... Anyone had this issue? Or have any ideas?
Thanks Chad

Popping out of gear is common with a body lift, the boot limits full travel of the levers. The shifter extensions usually solve that problem, as it seems to have done for you, at least initially. Possibly it's just wear causing slop in the shifter. If you think it's the boot just pull it out for a bit and see how it goes.

Yeah, I'll have to pop the boot off and give that a try... If that is the issue, what kind of aftermarket boots are out there that are more flexable?

Don't know what's on the aftermarket. A trick that sometimes helps is to install the inner boot upside down.
