Hey guys my 90 deg. coupler on my stock intake tube riped when i was off roading in gorman duck-tape was a quick fix for the momment but when i went looking for it not every junk yard had it and the ones who did were asking $100+ for it so i fugered go buy at the dealer Asked at the dealer $180 and had to wait 7-14 days for it so i put 50 down and went home Got home and saw this 3 inch tube sticking out of my 71' ford pick up's bed and started thinking " can I weld me up an intake tube " had 2.75 inch couplers chop saw and a welder everything i needed so i sat in front of my pc and started looking intake tubes up and well all i found were plastic tubing and then i stumbled acrros this thread yotatech.com/f116/best-22re-intake-122942/ and well i wanted one one problem my 88 had its TB put down at an angle so how to fix this hmm... This is what i cam up with I had to do 90 deg bends whit 45 deg cuts like this one oh and that patch job on the top was beacuse the conner was hitting the hood, also you think that beacuse the tube is touching the radiator hose it will affect the temp of the air going in to the intake? took me about 6 hours to figure things out weld it and clean it not the best but i can walk away with a smile let me know what you guys think i can do changes with out a problem... Thats totally incredible. Just an opinion you might want to consider cutting off a piece of old radiator hose and place it between the pipe and the upper radiator hose. Looking at the picture there is a possibility of the pipe wearing a hole in the upper hose. Also during acceleration the pipe is going to move. You might have to put a longer piece of hose by the air flow meter. It might be alright. Does the pipe go over the top of the air flow meter? Cant tell by looking at the picture.
