so I am getting 2 codes from my 90 4runner (3vze manual trans ).
1. code 52 (knock sensor, have a pretty bad cam tap) not worried terribly about this one
2. code 43 -No starter signal to the ecu.
now here is the issue, the truck starts, all gauges work, the starter is new (could something be wrong with it) and last but not least, I ohmed out the starter lead to the ecu and it has a reading of 0.2
any idea why I am getting this code?
p.s. the engine blew a head gasket, yes I already checked to see if it was replaced once, and it is currently out of the truck waiting to get a new head gasket in

The code 43 should not remain stored in the ECU memory,so you should not have to cancel out the diagnostic code. When you obtained the output diagnostic codes was the vehicle in the normal mode? - Engine at normal operating temperature - All accessories switched OFF - The battery voltage should be greater than -11 volts- The throttle valve needs to be fully closed - The transmission in neutral - Do not run the engine, but leave the ignition switch on. The only other thing that comes to mind. - An issue with the main relay circuit - starter signal circuit -doubtful ignition switch- Ecu. How many volts are you getting cranking or at idle?

The battery voltage is about 14 volts (fluke multimeter), when cranking it is just right of the inner bracket on the in dash meter( so I am guessing about 10-11 volts until it starts, then it goes up to 14), at idle it is about 14 volts. The codes are the same whether the truck is hot or cold
