I have a 4x4 91 toyota pickup with a 22re. When it is cold it idles fine but when it gets up to tempture the idle goes straight down and it dies sometimes. I think it might be the throttle position sensor or maybe the idle air control valve. Wondering what all you guys thought. Thanks

There is a temperature sending unit located on the intake - Which effects the idle, this MIGHT be the problem. Don't run out and purchase one -( there expensive) Sometimes you can remove the unit and clean the end,and your good to go. Also check the coolant level, if the level is LOW this will effect the idle. There are two sensors,I cant remember the color of the sending unit,I will check it out and get back to you.

The sensor is located below the throttle position sensor and its green in color. Some other issues - Air flow meter circuit - fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator - idle speed circuit valve - cold start circuit.

IIRC, there's also an Aux Air Valve that affect's idle.
