Has anyone drilled drain holes to let water out of the inside of the frame. Is it a bad idea to do so?

It's not a bad idea, especially if you go thru water a lot.
But if you're trying to prevent frame rust, all the dirt that builds up inside it over time is the big problem. It holds the moisture in, promoting rust.

well i managed to find enough stock holes that i didnt really need to drill any and I got all the mud out. How do you guys coat the inside to stop rust?
