OK, so I bought my 88 4runner SR5 V6 that had a 22r put in it, which is what I wanted, I did not do the swap. Have since put a new 22r in it after the motor went. I had to redo some hokey wiring in the engine compartment, no problem. My issue is that the 15 anp fuse next to my left foot blows. This is the fuse that runs the 5 interior lights, the doors, map, dome, and deck light. The immediate area around the 15 amp fuse is slightly melted. When I put a new fuse in and I start to insert the ignition key the fuse pops. Driving me nuts!I also noticed that the digital clock only comes on when I turn corners, but I do not think it is related.Yikes. Anyone have any ideas or help? I have taken all the lights apart and the two door switches and all looks fine. I was wondering if there is a key buzzer in this truck that goes off if you leave the keys in and open the door? Mine does not seem to have one? Also, there is nothing hooked up to the back of the light in the dash for the ignition? Don't know if these are related.

Seems that you might have a wire issue in that fuse block.Remove the block and take the block apart to inspect the wires and pins. But before you go through that trace the wiring from the main to the one on the interior for a possible frayed wire(s).

Thanks Hoodlum. The block connection looks good actually. I can see that when I turn the block around. It must be in the load side of the circuit and I have to track it down. I need to figure out where all the positive wires for these interior lights meet up. I think there might be a relay for these interior lights somewhere, I just have no idea where. I am an electrician, and I have decided I hate automotive wiring!

You said "When I put a new fuse in and I start to insert the ignition key the fuse pops." That definetly sounds related.
