the only pic i had at the moment, nothing to do with a toyota, but we started building my 81 this weekend and it went pretty smooth, we had the engine and trans put together in the floor, we picked up the cab and set it on the back, there was no bed on it, i have a late 80's trans so i had to move my crossmember back about 5 inches, we just welded it, if i ever have to pull the crossmember off i will have to use a cutter of some sort to do the job, i will try to take some pics,. we got it in and set the cab down in place, and it fired up after about 20 min of wire and hose conecting, we did find out that 87 wheels will not work on 81 hubs, steering components rub the inside of wheels,, my 81 will probably not see the rock but living in the delta , it will probably see its share of mud, does anyone know if the different transmission will gear it lower or not, its all about gas milage nowdays, i want to put small tires on it rite now, not planing to regear for a while, and i want to use my 5th gear when pulling my boat,, the body mounts are being replaced with a 2 inch body lift, and probably a 3 inch suspension lift on front, due to the heavy winch bumper and winch, today i am going to buy all the hoses and belts,, i have a 82 2 wheel drive that i am taking the bed off of and a few of the under the hood parts,, i also will keep the doors and the hood for spares, they both r long wheelbase models, i took the bucketseats out of the 87, the motor that i bought seemed like a pretty good deal, it had been run about 6 months in a guys truck and he pulled it to put a bigger motor in, and he just put a weber carb on it, he sold me engine with the carb for 600, not any trail and error going on yet, i have done a lot of research on this yearmodel, some questions have been asked and answered, some not, but we r making a honest stab at it, if anyone has any input, input.......... and the buck i killed this past christmas, biggest one yet,, thanks for reading
