Im in the middle of resurecting my 84' long bed half ton. The frame is toast on my 86' and the exo cage is about all thats holding the truck together. So the axles and lift are getting swapped. The stock carb on the 84' is driving me nuts. What a complicated pos. i dont have the cash for a webber but was thinking about swapping on a old 2 barrel from a small block chevy. My buddy had a old nissan 4cyl n thats what he did. He just had to hog out the mounting holes a bit. Any ideas

I can't think of any common carb that would swap easily, but if you find something, let us know! A lot of people would be interested.

Iv got a carb off a older 2.3 ford 4cyl and a carter but i dont know what its from, these are the first two options. I had the truck running great the other day, idles smooth and revved up great. Made it 200yds and it started spitting and sputtering idleing rough again. Gonna check the egr valve tonite.

I have a carter 2 barrel from a 350 chevy that might work but will probably need rejetted. The mounting holes will need to be hogged out a little. I got my truck runnin a bit better. Gonna go thru and clean the stock carb one more time and see what happens. Then see about the swap.

Iv got a carb off a older 2.3 ford 4cyl ... but i dont know what its from, Maybe an old Pinto? That was actually a popular carb to swap onto other 4 cyl engines.

A pinto carb might work. The 2 barrel i have is a factory smallblock carb. It says jet city or something on it, it would be a good swap candidate once the jetting is figured out. Iv gotten to the point to where i said fuck it and ordered a weber yesterday. Fed up with the aisin junk, tired of screwing around. With the weber i can de smog it and rip out all the junk and have a nice clean engine bay. Once i get It running good all the body work is next and paint. I hate the way the bed was built. It has a little rust along the seams under the seam sealer. So its gonna be a project. But the frame and cab are solid. The truck hasnt even seen a winter up here.
